Contractor in Tourism Married 2021-10-05 18:06:27
After living 8 years in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, I backpacked in Africa for nearly 2 years and then returned to Denver. I then embarked on a career in travel and tourism. Met my fantastic husband Wayne skiing at Copper Mountain and we moved to Gunnison-Crested Butte. From there we moved to Grand Junciton where I spend 28 years with a wonderful team putting "Colorado's Wine Country" on the map domestically and internationally.

Retired in 2018 for 6 months and then moved to Durango for nearly a year to help with their tourism organization. In 2019 I began contracting with the Colorado Tourism Office to manage their stewardship program "Care for Colorado" which educates residents and visitors on how to protect Colorado's precious outdoor resources.

Still  getting outdoors, traveling the world,  gardening and  enjoying opera. "Que sera, sera".

Executive Coach Married 4 2021-10-28 19:28:53
So sorry I couldn't make the reunion!  Looked like a great time and so appreciate the efforts of Brian and the team.

A LOT of water under the bridge.  Been married to Barbara for 45 years; yes, and according to her, the reason she still hangs with me is that I travel.  4 adult children and 6 grandchildren with 2 on the way. Wish they all lived close by, but they are spread across the nation. Still living in Newport Beach, CA, I retired from Nissan in 2007 after 32 years in the automotive business (7 with Ford, 25 with Nissan).

After retirement, I headed up numerous start-up companies across the globe, but ultimately decided to get out of others' vortexes and do my own thing.  Went back to school to get a degree in Executive Coaching, hung a shingle, and coach executives across the globe as Quantum Leap Consulting. Quite simply, I just help executives to be the best they can be. I also partner with executives in tranisition and help recent graduates launch into their first careers. Barbara and I are blessed with the ability to travel to my clients internationally.

Having lived across the globe, the only contact I keep from TJ is my buddy, Donn Turner.  We get together with Donn and his wife, Mary, at least annually.

Life can be challenging and no one gets through unscathed. A survifor of much, it is our family's faith in God that keeps us centered and moving forward. As I discuss with my clients, only you manage you and everything needs to be done intentionally.

Thanks for having been in my life.  I wish you much joy and peace.

Most Sincerely,

Kent

Unusual  life for an  “originally” non-academic person.  Ended up biology major with two science masters and a dental degree and currently teaching and doing educational research at University of Colorado Dental school. Between 1st masters and dental school worked in a Crime lab for the Greeley Police Department and had a cold case homicide solved 30 years later by DNA. Private practice in dentistry for 30 years and coaching swimming for 40 years rounded out my interests. Married to Candace for 43 years who along with our daughter became dentists.  Loved being a dad and especially like being a grandfather. Emma 10, Michael 8 and Addy 4 years old keeps me busy. No retirement planned as I am having a blast.  Just need one more knee replaced!

Prior to Covid would meet up with some of local TJ alumni couple times a year. Many of us went to kindergarten through high school together. (Some may remember Mr. Gail at Slaven’s) Very much appreciated Don Day and the life’s lessons he taught me.  We really did have an exceptional class

Cindy Dunham (Semenik-Hall)
mostly retired Married 2021-08-15 20:06:13
I've led an eclectic life that I wouldn't trade for the world! My careeers have each made me a better person and so have the loves of my life. Scoliosis defined my 20's, accounting and the new PC era defined my 30's thru early 50's. Now I am defined by my love of people and chaplaincy and my recently found love of guns -- I'm a firearms instructor with my husband of only 6 years, Bill Hall.
In my late 30's I married a GM executive, Dan, and lost him when he was only 63 in 2007. In those years I was still a PC instructor and manager with AT&T PDC. We toured the world and country together with either my business or with Dan's. We moved to Florida in 2002 to be near his mother who lived to be 101 - bless her heart... and I still live in Florida.
I've always been a woman of faith and of intuition; I am an unapologetic conspiracy theorist -- I've never been wrong about the theories I have chosen to believe. I see a wonderful future ahead for this country and the world... and I'm not wrong about that either. God isn't giving up on us yet, and we shouldn't give up on Him either! God bless America... and the Secret Space Program - Solar Warden!

Met a Wyoming girl two years out of CU, and she dragged me northward, where we've lived since then.  I like CO, but I really like WY.  Caherine and I have two sons, two daughters, four grandsons and four granddaughters.  How's that for planning?  Still working, though trying to transition out of it and spend more time fly fishing and playing golf.  Looking forward to the reunion, but am sure hoping that we all have name tags with photos from our days at TJ.   Send Dave a MessageSend Dave a Message
Brodie Farquhar
semi-retired writer Married 3 2021-09-28 12:00:46

Terribly shy at TJ, I blossomed my senior year, after Outward Bound course summer of ‘69, and especially in theater. Big thanks to English teacher Sandra Belgrade, who used a red pen on my papers – looked like it was from a slasher movie. Convinced me to enter state-wide contest, which I won and paid my tuition at UNC for my bachelor degree in journalism. Also a thank you to AP History teacher John Miles, who worked my butt off. Stood me in good stead for my master’s in Natural Resource Policy at U. of Michigan, where I was in the inaugural class of Scripps Fellows for Environmental Journalism.

Met Sharon Roadifer at UNC, where we were best friends before I kissed her one night. 47 years of marriage through way too many jobs and moves. I was a roving gypsy and along the way earned 21 national, regional and state press association awards in five states. Also worked public affairs gigs for Colorado School of Mines, The Nature Conservancy, Crested Butte Ski Resort, Wyoming Democratic Party and BLM. Have seen and done a wide range of things that would never have happened if I’d worked one job all these years.

Three kids: Eric is an Air Force Lt. Colonel in Florida, Katie is raising her fiance’s daughter and Sarah probably knows more about “The Count of Monte Cristo” than all but a handful of scholars in the world. Eric has beautiful wife Riann and kids Elle and Max.

Living in Hayden, down the road from Steamboat, where Sharon works as HR director for Liftup, the biggest charity in the region. We’re buying a home – the rental we’ve lived in for 2.5 years. Plan high-quality renovations and maybe sell later for handsome profit in crazy market. Aspirations for international travel, though there are states I haven’t visited yet.

Free-lance writing assignments have largely dried up over past decade and ageism is very real. Over-qualified is the phrase in bite-me letters. I keep juices flowing with letters to the editor and articles for free, regional arts/entertainment magazine.

I earn a paycheck in retail, where I’ve learned a great deal about cheese and wines and I specialize in bad Dad jokes for my customers.

Health is extra-ordinarily good for my age, though I have had two eye operations and lost a fair bit of my hearing while target shooting without adequate protection. I could easily stand to lose 20-40 pounds, though I do not yet suffer from Dunlap’s Disease, as in my belly dun lap over my belt buckle.

Beautiful area up here in northwest Colorado. Fall colors about to peak. Skiing, for those who have functional knees and ample income, can be spectacular. I hope to ski a few days this winter.

My memoir, Reckless Steps Toward Sanity, includes my years in high school, making both TJ and Denver pieces of my dangerous journey toward adulthood. 50 years

I look forward to seeing whoever shows up and if any of us remember who we are talking to when we don't recognize each other.

I am sure Debby will remind me about what a bad boy I was!

It should be interesting!
